Doing great business and good for the world should go hand in hand. Which is why every year, we consult with our partners at Travel Link Foundation to facilitate a project that gives back to the local Moroccan communities.
In light of last year’s earthquake, the 2024 PURE Community Project will look a little different to previous year’s. Under Travel Link’s guidance, PURE will be funding a much-needed, multipurpose hub for women and children in Douar Al Foukara, a village that was badly affected by the earthquake.
Then, on the day before PURE, we’ll be running a Community Project Hike into the Atlas Mountains. We’ll trek through the impact our partners at Travel Link Foundation have made since 2023’s earthquake, and spend time with the locals who feel it.
The Community Project Hike is a chance to witness our collective progress firsthand. You’ll see what Morocco looks like beyond Marrakech. Be welcomed into the village. Ask our partners about their work. Sit down for a traditional Berber breakfast. Talk, listen and take locals to heart. Also? It could ignite your own ideas for how to set up and maintain a community programme.

HOW IT WORKS
Join us the day before PURE begins. You’ll be picked up at the Palais des Congrès and return to Marrakech by the early afternoon.
– Meet at the Palais des Congrès for 7:30 am, leave at 8:00 am.
– Arrive in the foothills by 8:45 am.
– Split into groups for tailored hiking routes.
– Climb to Douar Al Foukara village.
– Tour the centre, meet the locals and have breakfast with them.
– Either walk back with us, or take a transfer down.
– Return to the Palais between 12:30 pm – 1 pm.

You know that PURE stands for business sparked through true connections. And there aren’t many better ways to get to know buyers, exhibitors and media than walking side by side, on a clear morning, with a mission.
The hike is an intimate ice-breaker before the show. Some of our community’s deepest collaborations emerge during a PURE project. Who might you meet in the mountains? Let’s find out.
