If you’re joining us for PURE 2023, we look forward to welcoming you to the community.

To make sure that you’re fully prepared for flying out to Morocco, have a read of the below travel information and allow plenty of time to arrange everything!

Travel

TRAVELLING TO PURE

New for 2023, we are launching a flight-free journey from London to PURE with Intrepid Travel. If this sparks your interest, please hold off on booking flights – more info will be coming very soon. If you still intend to get to Marrakech by plane, remember to book your flights in time for Open House, which starts on the morning of Sunday 10 September 2023. Please note that the 2023 Community Project will take place early on the morning of Saturday 9, requiring you to arrive in Marrakech on Friday 8 September.

VISAS & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

It’s your responsibility to get all your travel documents prepared for PURE, including visas, visa letters and any Covid-19 entry requirements. Make sure you check that you can be granted a visa and entry under Covid-19 regulations at the nearest consulate or embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco as soon as possible. Allow a long lead-time – we recommend at least 40 days.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is recommended, and don’t forget to check for exclusions, and ensure that your policy covers you for any of the activities you want to get involved in during your trip.

TAXIS

If you’re planning on using taxis, here are a few tips to remember:

The average cost of a ride within the city is around MAD 50 and should cost no more than MAD 60
A taxi from the airport to the Medina should be no more than MAD 200
Taxis to La Palmeraie could cost around MAD 150
A 50% rise is expected for night drives, while luggage also incurs an additional charge
All taxis should be equipped with a working counter – remember to ask the drivers to put it on before accepting the ride. If their counter doesn’t work, which is often the case, you should agree on a price before embarking on your journey; otherwise you might find it considerably more expensive once you arrive at your destination!
‘Small taxis’, contrary to ‘big taxis’, cannot take you outside of Marrakech and are limited to three passengers
